Mauser Broomhandle sn 17003 SA marked. Apparently during WWI, Germany delivered weaponry to the Jaeger Movement (Jääkäriliike) and later to Finnish White Army. These were carried on board submarine UC-57 and freight ships. The deliveries included over 1,000 Mauser C96 pistols of both calibers (7.63mm and 9mm) but the majority were 9mm. Finnish Red Guards and Russian Gendarmes managed to intercept some of the weapons deliveries and used captured pistols during the Finnish Civil War. On the opposing side, the White Army issued Mauser pistols mostly to its officers and leaders. When the Civil War ended in May 1918, these men kept their pistols war souvenirs.
