1944 Krieghoff sn.11231. This pistol falls into the early number block of 11200 to 11400 produced in late 1944. In this early/first block of serial numbers it is estimated that only 200 were produced in total with very few examples even known today. The chamber is roll marked "1944". It is fitted with the early C-2 style front toggle with the anchor points touching the bottom tips of the "H and K" letters with "KRIEGHOFF/SUHL" the full width of the toggle. The bottom of the "U" in "SUHL" is slightly angled to the right, which is also correct. The right side of the barrel extension has the 1st "LWa" stage II early acceptance proof next to the stage II mid-proof next to the final acceptance proof. The underside of the barrel is marked "882/LWa2/11231" with the smaller number size. The right side of the breechblock has the correct Luftwaffe "eagle/2" firing proof. It is fitted with the late Mauser production black plastic grips with the coarse checkered that are unmarked on the backside. As noted, it is complete with one unusual original type four, blued (milled, fxo type) magazine with the black plastic base. It is accompanied by a black leather holster that carries a very small Luftwaffe "eagle/2" acceptance proof on the inside back part of the holster. There are only very few known to exist, maybe a dozen.
