1937 Krieghoff sn 9603.  Manufactured in 1937, this is one of approximately 2,500 Lugers manufactured by Krieghoff that year for the German Luftwaffe, just prior to World War II. These pistols fall within the 7300 to 10000 serial number range and were part of the first contract for 10,000 pistols. This example has the "1937" chamber date and was produced fairly late in that year, with the toggle bearing the C-2 type "H (anchor) K/KRIEGHOFF/SUHL" marking. The right side of the chamber has three Luftwaffe acceptance/test proofs while the left has the full serial number "9603" which is repeated on the front of the frame. Luftwaffe proofs are repeated on the barrel, frame, and breech block. The "GESICHERT" safety marking is correct. It is fitted with serrated blade front and notch rear sights and checkered brown plastic grips. Includes a "1937" dated black leather holster marked with an Eagle 2 acceptance stamp and one blank but correct magazine with "eagle/2" acceptance marks.
